About SonBridge
SonBridge Center for Better Living is a non-profit organization, bringing hope and wholeness to people in our community. The SonBridge vision is to build a community where God’s unconditional love is expressed through resources and services to revitalize the whole person.
SonBridge is devoted to providing support to those in need through dental care, life coaching & counseling, education, job skills training, and referrals to social services. Located in College Place, Washington and staffed primarily by volunteers, the SonBridge Thrift&Gift Store funds the services and operations of SonBridge and is the major source of income, along with grants and donations.
SonBridge serves anyone who needs help without regard to race, gender, age, religious belief or affiliation. We partner with other organizations to efficiently care for the unmet needs within our community.
Mission
To share the love of Christ bringing hope and wholeness to the people of the Walla Walla Valley.
Vision
To build a community where God’s unconditional love is expressed through resources and services to revitalize the whole person.
History
SonBridge Center for Better Living was founded in 2005 by eight Walla Walla Valley congregations who recognized the importance of direct access to low-cost community services for people. A medical clinic, SOS Health Services, moved in immediately and soon after the SonBridge Thrift&Gift Store was opened, becoming a source of income and providing clothing, household goods, and furniture at reduced prices to our community.

In 2013, the SonBridge Dental Clinic opened, providing accessible and affordable dental care with dignity and respect. In 2017, an additional 5,000 square feet were repurposed, creating the SonBridge Education Center. The new space tripled SonBridge’s meeting space and expanded our capacity for support and recovery groups, programs, classes, and activities.
In 2023, Helpline@SonBridge expanded our family assistance program by continuing the Helpline legacy of screening, direct aid, and resource referrals for low-income, homeless, and those who need occasional extra help. Helpline@SonBridge assists people in our community who are struggling to stay warm and pay their rent, a mother who may have left an abusive relationship and needs clothing and shoes for her children, and seniors who need a listening ear and direction for where to go when changes have affected their lives.
SonBridge seeks to understand the needs of our community, extending programs and resources to meet those needs and bringing positive change to everyone who walks through our doors. Services provided by SonBridge are supported by sales from the SonBridge Thrift&Gift Store, volunteers, grants, and donations. By volunteering, supporting, and donating, you can help us make a difference in the lives of people in our community. Thank you for sharing your time and dedication, as together we serve the people of the Walla Walla Valley.
